About the Author

David Cai Jinhang is currently the Public Policy Leader for Singapore at an social media multinational company. He served as a Singaporean diplomat and was a recipient of the prestigious Singapore Public Service Commission Overseas “Open” Singapore Government Scholarship and the Japanese Government’s Monbukagakusho Scholarship. He studied international social sciences at the University of Tokyo and is passionate about languages, poetry, and art. He enjoys writing poetry in Mandarin, English, and Japanese. His poems have won the Merit Award in the 7th Singapore Poetry Competition in 2021 and have been published in Singapore’s national Chinese newspaper Lianhe Zaobao, New Meridian - Taiwan Poetry Journal (2021 & 2022), Singapore Literary Journey, and the literary magazine Equatorial Wind. He has self-published an online bilingual poetry collection titled That Rages Against the Flesh 那肆虐于肉体的 Amazon Link, as well as written a song Moonshine for local Singer Chen Yi.
